Timeline & Milestones
Winter/spring 2009: The team was established, and we wrote the first application for funding from Danida. (Danish Government Aid)
July 2009: We were granted money (concluding project statement) towards a trip to Sierra Leone to identify our final project and collaboration with AVA.
Summer 2009: A group of volunteers traveled to Sierra Leone to have workshops with AVA and to collect material for the final project application.
Fall 2009: We worked intensely on writing the application for the project.
15. December 2009: The application was handed in.
1st of March 2010: We were granted exactly 408.995 kr. to run the project over the next 1½ years
May 2010: First project visit to Sierra Leone.
Summer 2010: Continuous monitoring of the project and contact with our partner.
October – November 2010: Second project visit to Sierra Leone.
13th -16th of January 2011: Jeef Bech, professional manager at the ‘Projektrådgivningen’ (they manage the smaller Danida grants) visited with our partner AVA i Kono.
January 2011: Preparation for the next project visit that takes place in February, and we begin writing the annual report for Projektrådgivningen/Danida due 1st of March 2011.
July 2011: Kono Development receive a small grant to send a team to Sierra Leone to held an appraisal workshop with the aim of designing a new project together with our partner organization. A new team is formed to take over from the old volunteers. Nina Cheesman is the new project manager.
August 2011: The appraisal visit is carried out.
October 2011: Three of our volunteers visit Kono to evaluate the project and make the final remarks
November 2011: The project officially ends.
