Kono Business & Development is a nonprofit concept that combines business with the more traditional development work in Africa. We have created a sustainable business model where we offer unique, African produced accessories to the consumers in the Western world, while at the same time securing a group of African women tailors an income, but we want to the impact to go further.
Therefor, we applied for a grant with Danida (Danish government aid) to carry out a development project with a local organization as a partner. The project is called Kono Development, and the objective is to build up and strengthen the partner organization, which runs a school targeted marginalized women.
